Shiba Inu: Shibarium Bridge Successfully Tested by Top Blockchain Developer for Speed and Reliability

Shiba Inu Enters Top 10, Surpasses Cardano with Significant Rally

Prominent blockchain software engineer, CryptoLeadDev, took to Twitter to showcase the operational efficiency of the Shibarium bridge. In a practical demonstration, he meticulously evaluated the functionality and dependability of the bridge in expediting cryptocurrency transactions.

By personally conducting the test and openly sharing his feedback with the crypto community, the developer aimed to proactively resolve any possible concerns or challenges that users might encounter when embarking on similar ventures.

In the developer’s own words, “I am testing the Shibarium bridge, sending ETH to Shibarium, so you don’t have to test it yourself.”

As previously reported by Fxcryptonews, Shibarium’s beta bridge was made available for public testing in July. This development allowed users to actively engage with the bridge and participate in the testing process, providing valuable feedback and insights to further enhance its functionality and performance.

Shibarium Bridge Testing Phase

As reported by CryptoLeadDev, the first step involved accessing the Shibarium bridge web app, where the user entered the specific Ethereum (ETH) token they wished to transfer. For the test, a quantity of 0.01 ETH was selected, which had an approximate value of $16.4981 at the time of the transaction. Initially, a fee of $1.95 was displayed, accompanied by an estimated completion time ranging from 20 to 30 minutes.

It is worth noting that the developer utilized the MetaMask Web3 wallet for this process. Interestingly, when the transaction reached the confirmation stage in MetaMask, the estimated fee increased to $2.65. Despite this change, the developer proceeded with the transaction.

During the fund transfer process to Shibarium, CryptoLeadDev monitored the progress by referring to the blockchain explorer to obtain pertinent information. Notably, he observed that the Shibarium bridge facilitated the movement of funds to an upgradeable proxy contract. This mechanism allows for future upgrades and enhancements to be seamlessly implemented within the Shibarium infrastructure.

An upgradeable proxy contract is a type of smart contract that enables the modification of its underlying code without disrupting its ability to send or receive funds.

In the specific case of the Shibarium bridge, the transfer of ETH is facilitated through an upgradeable proxy contract. This contract securely stores the transferred ETH and allows for code upgrades as necessary. This flexibility ensures the continued functionality of the bridge, even if changes are made to the Shibarium blockchain.

Interestingly, the duration of the transaction deviated from the initially estimated 30-minute timeframe. CryptoLeadDev made note of initiating the transaction at 06:01 (UTC) and, remarkably, by 06:05 (UTC), only four minutes later, he tweeted that the transaction had concluded eight minutes ago. Thus, it can be inferred that the transaction was successfully completed within a remarkably short duration of four minutes.

The developer successfully transferred the minted ETH tokens from the bridge to his wallet on Shibarium, which resulted in him obtaining WETH.

Subsequently, the developer proceeded to create a special token placeholder on his MetaMask wallet specifically designed to receive the Shibarium WETH. He emphasized the importance of this step due to the distinct nature of WETH on Shibarium compared to Ethereum.
With joy and excitement, he exclaimed, “Shibarium bridge appears to be working. Woot woot! Horray!” as he observed the successful arrival of the WETH in his MetaMask wallet.
