Shiba Inu: Shibarium Hits $1.36 Million in Total Value Locked (TVL) Amidst DeFi Surge

Shiba Inu Enters Top 10, Surpasses Cardano with Significant Rally

After the public re-launch of Shibarium, there has been a notable surge in the number of crypto industry participants staking their assets on the blockchain. According to data gathered by prominent DeFi aggregator Defillama, there is a clear positive trend in the amount of funds being staked on Shibarium.

Specifically, the Total Value Locked (TVL) on Shibarium has reached an impressive milestone of $1.36 million. This significant figure highlights the increasing interest and enthusiasm surrounding the Shiba Inu ecosystem, as more users are actively engaging with the platform and staking their assets.

To provide context, TVL, or Total Value Locked, is a metric used to gauge the total amount of cryptocurrency that has been deposited into smart contracts on a blockchain. When users decide to stake their crypto assets, they essentially lock them up in decentralized platforms in exchange for rewards or incentives. This process involves deposit the assets into specific protocols or contracts, which then enable users to participate in activities such as lending, borrowing, liquidity provision, or yield farming.

Shibarium TVL on DEXs

Based on data from Defillama, the TVL on Shibarium is facilitated by five decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and one decentralized protocol. These platforms include DogSwap, MARSWAP, WoofSwap, Shibex, LeetSwap, and ChocoInu.

Among these six platforms, DogSwap commands the largest share of the TVL on Shibarium. Currently, there is $737,952 staked to Shibarium through DogSwap, representing a notable growth of 12.36% within the last 24 hours. On the other hand, ChocoInu has witnessed a significant decline in staked funds, experiencing nearly 100% negative growth. Currently, ChocoInu holds only $142.44 in staked funds, indicating an 86.58% decrease in value over the past day.

Total Global TVL Reaches $38.9 Billion

In comparison to the global TVL across all DeFi protocols, the total value locked to Shibarium represents less than 1%. According to Defillama data, the combined TVL of all DeFi platforms currently stands at a significant $38.903 billion.

Considering Shibarium’s TVL of $1.36 million, this figure accounts for just 0.003496% of the overall TVL across the DeFi ecosystem, highlighting its relatively small share. However, despite this smaller percentage, Shibarium demonstrates a healthy growth rate within its network. It is worth noting that the Ethereum blockchain, as expected, maintains the largest share among all protocols in terms of TVL.

The Total Value Locked (TVL) in Ethereum has witnessed a notable reduction in recent years, despite its current TVL surpassing $22 billion. It is noteworthy that the network’s TVL reached an all-time high of over $105 billion in November 2021, coinciding with the peak of the previous bull market cycle.

However, the future trajectory of Shibarium in relation to established blockchains like Ethereum, Tron, and Binance Smart Chain (BNB) remains uncertain. The forthcoming years will shed light on the competitive dynamics among these blockchain networks, as Shibarium endeavors to establish its unique value proposition and attract a substantial user base. In this dynamic landscape, only time will reveal the extent to which these networks can differentiate themselves and adapt to evolving market demands.
