Shiba Inu [SHIB] has been diligently preparing for the upcoming launch of Shibarium, and as part of the process, the network and community have been conducting extensive tests on various additional features. Lucie Sasnikova from the Shiba Inu team recently revealed that the highly anticipated cross-chain bridge, a crucial element of the layer-2 scaling protocol Shibarium, is now available for public testing.

Community members who ran their own tests confirmed that the “bridge is up.” The cross-chain bridge integrates Shibarium’s Proof of Stake [PoS] and Ethereum sidechains, which were initially outlined in the Shibarium network documentation. This bridge aims to enhance transaction speeds and cost-effectiveness by leveraging Ethereum’s sidechains to conduct transactions. Additionally, it will utilize PoS security to facilitate seamless bi-directional transactions between Shibarium and Ethereum.
By ensuring a smooth transfer of tokens between the two networks without involving third-party risks, this implementation enhances liquidity across the platforms, making it a highly efficient scaling solution. As such, the cross-chain bridge represents a significant development for the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Shibarium’s Puppynet Testnet Surpasses 30 Million Transactions, But Daily Transactions Dip
Shibarium’s native testnet, Puppynet, recently achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 30 million total transactions on the network. However, while the total transactions have been on the rise, the number of daily transactions has started to decline, raising concerns amidst the project’s enthusiastic community. As anticipation builds for the mainnet release speculated to take place in August, any further delays could potentially lead to negative consequences.

At press time, Shiba Inu (SHIB) was trading at $0.00000790 per token.
