Shibarium Demand Skyrockets: NOWNodes Reports 413 Million Calls

Shiba Inu

The Shibarium RPC node provider has experienced a surge in demand after integrating the Shiba Inu-backed layer-2 network.

Shiba Inu introduced Shibarium in August, a highly anticipated layer-2 network built on Ethereum. This network facilitates the development of decentralised applications. It also attracts users with its cost-effectiveness and rapid transaction processing.

Four months later, NOWNodes, a popular Web3 tooling provider, released an assessment of Shibarium’s adoption. The report shows the widespread adoption of Shibarium among developer teams and organisations seeking to leverage this innovative chain.

Notably, the report reveals that the NOWNodes RPC node received an impressive 413 million calls from September 21 to December 22.

NOWNodes Record Calls and 98% Surge in November

RPCs typically function as endpoints for wallets and decentralised applications to interact with an underlying blockchain. Token transfer requests and dApp transactions are commonly processed through an RPC endpoint. This allows validators to access and handle the request.

Since Shibarium’s launch in August, NOWNodes reported that Shibarium hit a record of seven million calls to its RPC nodes. The growth of Shibarium persisted in the subsequent weeks, with the reported 413 million calls averaging 34 million per week.

NOWNodes further confirmed that in November, aligning with Shibarium’s increased usage, the number of calls to its node surged by 98%. It’s noteworthy that the provided statistics exclude NOWNodes’s dedicated access nodes. This suggests that the actual figures might be considerably higher than the reported ones.

Surging Demand for Shibarium

Recent statistics provided by NOWNodes reflect the ongoing growth observed in Shibarium. Just this week, the network achieved a significant milestone. It surpassed 200 million transactions within approximately four months of its launch.

Simultaneously, the Shibarium DeFi ecosystem is on an upward trajectory. After a few weeks, the layer-2 network recently reclaimed a total value locked (TVL) of $1 million. This signals the potential for increased SHIB burns and overall expansion within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
