Shiba Inu (SHIB) is closing in on a symbolic milestone as the total number of tokens burned approaches 410 trillion. While this figure may initially seem impressive, context is key—especially for traders hoping for a bullish breakout. According to recent tokenomics data, burn initiatives have removed over 410 trillion SHIB from circulation since the mechanism’s launch through 2023.
Major Burn Events Drove Early Momentum
Notably, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin contributed significantly to the early burn wave with his infamous SHIB burn in mid-2021. At the same time, enthusiastic community-led initiatives helped boost the numbers. However, the pace of burning has sharply declined over the past one to two years. Presently, the burn tracker indicates roughly 409 trillion SHIB have exited circulation.

Despite nearing the 410 trillion mark, the price reaction has remained negligible. The market has already priced in past burns, making the current milestone largely symbolic. For SHIB to regain bullish traction, the token would require a significant spike in burn rate or renewed investor enthusiasm.
SHIB Faces Resistance and Limited Momentum
On the price chart, SHIB continues to struggle with resistance near the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA). After failing to hold above $0.000016, the coin now attempts to stabilize around $0.000015. Key support lies between $0.0000142 and $0.0000145, and maintaining this zone will determine SHIB’s short-term direction.

Trading volume has recovered slightly from last week’s drop but remains underwhelming relative to yearly expectations. Moreover, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) suggests neither an overbought nor oversold condition, signaling ongoing price consolidation.

Ultimately, the approaching 410 trillion SHIB burn total marks a pivotal moment in the project’s deflationary roadmap. However, without a noticeable uptick in burn activity or investor engagement, the milestone will remain ceremonial.
