Scams remain a constant threat in the cryptocurrency sector, exploiting rapid growth and inexperienced investors. Recently, LUCIE—the marketing strategist for Shibarium—recounted a harrowing encounter with scammers. In a post shared on X, LUCIE revealed they are still haunted by the day fraudsters drained their crypto wallet. This traumatic event was followed closely by another attack, compounding the emotional toll.
According to LUCIE, the scammer appeared trustworthy—speaking fluent English and showing sympathy throughout the interaction. These traits, which typically signal credibility, likely contributed to the successful deception. As a result, LUCIE issued a strong warning to the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community: remain cautious and protect your assets.

I am still haunted by the day my wallet was drained and by how, after, another scammer tried to scam me again when I was mentally destroyed and seeking help in the Pudgy…
Shiba Inu Community: A Common Target
Scammers frequently target the Shiba Inu community, largely due to its exponential growth. Over time, SHIB has transformed from a meme coin into a broad ecosystem with millions of investors, developers, and enthusiasts. Unfortunately, this expansion attracts bad actors who exploit newcomers’ lack of experience.

In one recent incident, a SHIB-related X account exposed fraudulent social media profiles imitating legitimate figures in the ecosystem. These fake accounts promoted giveaways, exclusive content, or fake investment schemes. Among the impersonation victims was LUCIE, whose account was cloned to mislead followers.
Binance Users Face Similar Threats
Scammers are not only targeting SHIB holders but also users of major platforms like Binance. Just a week ago, Binance warned its users about phishing attempts by individuals posing as Binance staff on Telegram and other messaging platforms.

The Binance team urged users to remain cautious and verify any information before clicking unknown links. Binance CEO Richard Teng echoed the sentiment by stating: “We’re here 24/7, but your vigilance is the first line of defense.”
