Shytoshi Kusama, the mysterious leader of Shiba Inu (SHIB), issued a strong warning to what he calls “new bad actors.” He revealed plans to thwart any attempts to undermine SHIB’s decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). Kusama claimed to have foreseen a plot in a dream involving “shadowcats” aiming to seize control of the DAO.
The SHIB team aims to transition governance to the community, giving every SHIB holder voting power, regardless of their stake size. This shift, according to SHIB’s marketing lead Lucie, will allow Shibizens to influence ecosystem decisions directly. Lucie shared these updates on X (formerly Twitter) in August.

In a recent tweet, Kusama confirmed the team’s preparedness to counter any hostile actions. He stated that the latest scheme resembles an old plan but involves different actors. Kusama reassured the community, emphasizing that the team has measures in place to neutralize threats swiftly and effectively.
Kaal Dhairya, a prominent SHIB developer, also hinted at significant updates. He mentioned working on ideas to enhance token burns but withheld specifics. Dhairya emphasized that while he continues to develop solutions, some expect results without contributing effort.
Burn Mechanism Updates and Recent Achievements
Dhairya clarified that token burns require collective effort and aren’t solely the team’s responsibility. He explained that Shibarium’s utility directly impacts burn rates. Higher usage leads to more burns.
Additionally, he announced upcoming maintenance to improve SHIB’s automated burn system, making it more efficient and cost-effective. Over the past month, the community and developers burned a record 3.16 billion SHIB tokens across 167 transactions.
