The growing popularity of the Metaverse has changed the dynamics of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem. In recent times the adoption has caused several big tech companies to partner.
Sandbox and Coincheck Are Building New Metaverse City
According to a report on January 31, Sandbox, a well-known company that promotes the use of Gaming Metaverse and Crypto service provider Coincheck announced that the two companies have started building a new Metaverse city.
The project, called Oasis TOKYO, is a near-future city being built on Coincheck land. According to the company, details of the new city will be announced in spring 2022.
Coincheck stated that Oasis TOKYO is a Metaverse and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) community platform that presents the concept of a near-future city in the year 2035 and aims to provide a forum for artists from different fields and their fans to communicate and, at the same time businesses to encourage them to develop their communities.
In September 2020, Coincheck and The Sandbox partnered to promote The Sandbox’s advertising and brand awareness in the Japanese market. Additionally, the two companies worked together to increase land sales on the NFT marketplace called Coincheck NFT.
In the recent announcement, Coincheck Executive Director Kensuke Amo stated that Metaverse’s popularity would accelerate in the near future. “We are committed to helping artists and companies connect with their fans and build community in the virtual world.
Amo added that he is very excited about the development of this project and that he has no doubt that users of this joint project by Coincheck and The Sandbox will enjoy it.
Increase in Metaverse Adoption
In November 2021, Barbados announced the country’s plans to build the world’s first Virtual World Embassy. Leading players in the crypto market have also ramped up efforts to increase the adoption of Metaverse and blockchain gaming. Huobi recently launched a $100 million campaign to explore opportunities in the Metaverse ecosystem.
Big Car companies like Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz etc., are also diving into the metaverse space. Fashion designing companies are not left out in the adoption.
