Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), a respected fashion publication, used Twitter to highlight a significant breakthrough in fashion, referring to it as a new advancement in the field of fashion innovations showcased at the prestigious SXSW 2023 event.
In response to the report, Marcie Jastrow, the Metaverse Advisor of Shiba Inu, expressed her excitement for participating in metaverse experiences while wearing fashionable wearables. Additionally, Shytoshi Kusama, the primary developer of Shiba Inu, recognized the importance of this advancement.
Earlier this month, at the SXSW festival, SHIB: The Metaverse introduced the WAGMI Temple Hub, which was well-received by those who attended. The premiere event showcased a variety of engaging and immersive experiences that sparked enthusiasm and anticipation among supporters of the project.
The Richmond Metaverse Wearables Showcase
The official fashion partner of SHIB: The Metaverse at this year’s SXSW festival was John Richmond, according to a press release The brand’s debut involved presenting its digital wearables, which are available in both free and premium versions and are authenticated as NFTs. Users can choose from a variety of wearables offered by John Richmond.
Additionally, participants and non-participants who are interested will be given the opportunity to buy physical versions of the clothing worn by their avatars in the metaverse. By offering this possibility, Richmond effectively combines Web3 fashion trends with real-world practical applications.

Notably, John Richmond had previously declared on March 1 that he would launch a clothing collection specifically designed for SHIB metaverse avatars and authenticated by NFTs. The fashion legend asked community members to give their input on the kind of clothing they wanted to see.
After partnering with Shiba Inu in February of last year, the John Richmond brand has since launched several initiatives that are designed to meet the specific needs of the Shiba Inu community. The latest addition to this series of projects is the release of digital wearables.
