The Shiba Inu community is facing growing concerns as Susbarium, the official ecosystem watchdog, issued a critical warning on April 22 regarding new tokens that have been falsely advertised as part of the Shiba Inu network. These tokens, which are native to the Ethereum Layer 2 network, Base, have stirred up confusion and controversy within the Shiba Inu community.
Susbarium Flags Misleading Claims
In a recent tweet, Susbarium pointed out that several new tokens, promoted as affiliated with the Shiba Inu ecosystem, were misleadingly advertised to the community. The watchdog emphasised that these tokens are not affiliated with the official Shiba Inu network or its team.
The tokens in question have been launched on Coinbase’s Base network, including “Shiba is Shiba,” “Happy Earth Day!,” and “Woof!!!.” These tokens, despite the claims of affiliation, were flagged for their lack of legitimacy within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Susbarium clarified that while the promoter behind these tokens is Ragnar Shib, a well-known figure within the Shiba Inu community, his involvement does not make these tokens official SHIB assets.
The Role of Ragnar Shib
Ragnar Shib, a long-time influential member of the Shiba Inu community, has come under scrutiny following a warning from Susbarium. Ragnar, known for his role as an administrator in the Shiba Inu Telegram group, recently launched multiple tokens, including the aforementioned “Shiba is Shiba” on Zora. This social platform allows token creation on Coinbase’s Base network.
Despite Ragnar’s prominent position within the Shiba Inu community, Susbarium stressed that his actions do not indicate affiliation with the official Shiba Inu team or Shiba.io. The watchdog emphasized the importance of verifying the legitimacy of any claims or projects before engaging with them.

Ragnar Responds to the Criticism
Ragnar’s reaction to Susbarium’s warning has sparked a heated debate within the Shiba Inu community. In a response posted on X (formerly Twitter), Ragnar criticized Susbarium’s tweet, labelling their actions as misleading and self-serving. He accused the watchdog of branding every project with which it has no direct affiliation as a scam and questioned the platform’s motives.
I want to issue a strong warning about this account. Their suspicious activities are misleading and aimed at promoting their own interests while claiming that everything else is a scam—except the projects they are involved in! I urge everyone to be cautious when interacting with… https://t.co/RmzgGCGpCv

Ragnar further clarified that he never claimed to be part of the Shiba Inu official team, despite Susbarium’s insinuation. He argued that the watchdog’s efforts are aimed at centralizing control within the Shiba Inu ecosystem and seizing authority over SHIB and its community.
Community Reactions and Growing Tension
The clash between Ragnar and Susbarium has divided the Shiba Inu community. Some members defended Ragnar, pointing out that his involvement in the ecosystem has not previously raised any red flags. They believe that his activities, while perhaps unconventional, are not inherently suspicious.

However, others noted that Ragnar had previously distanced himself from certain NFT projects associated with his name in 2023. At that time, he cautioned the community about potential scams, which adds complexity to the current situation. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Ragnar’s recent token launches, Susbarium’s warning serves as a reminder to the Shiba Inu community to remain vigilant and cautious when it comes to new projects and tokens.
