Many view the appearance of Shiboshis on the billboard as a clever and strategic move to draw attention to the Shiba Inu NFT project. Shiboshis, despite their potential, have previously received less attention compared to other Shiba Inu-related projects like Shibarium and its ecosystem tokens.

Shiboshi NFTs: A Swift Sell-Out Success
Shiboshis made a significant mark in the NFT world when it launched on October 14, 2021. Remarkably, within a mere 34 minutes, all 10,000 units of these digital collectibles were completely sold out, achieving a remarkable milestone.
Shiba Inu distributed the 10,000 Shiboshis in three separate categories. Initially, they sold the first 3,000 Shiboshis at a rate of 0.1 ETH per unit. Subsequently, they minted a batch consisting of 5,000 Shiboshis, each priced at 0.2 ETH. Finally, they made the last 2,000 units of Shiboshis available for purchase at a rate of 0.3 ETH each.
Challenges Faced During Minting Phase
However, the minting phase was not without its challenges. Many users encountered difficulties, especially concerning the hefty gas fees required for transactions. Some users even reported spending up to $1,500 in gas fees without receiving their coveted Shiboshis.
The challenges faced during the minting of Shiboshis consequently catalyzed the Shiba Inu team to intensify their efforts in developing a Layer-2 scaling solution known as Shibarium, to alleviate such issues.
