According to a recent study conducted by Cryptomeister, a digital asset education resource, Shiba Inu (SHIB) has secured the fourth position as the most searched cryptocurrency in the United States.
By examining Google Trends data, the study identified the top five cryptocurrencies that people in each state of the US are interested in investing in based on their search queries. Shiba Inu (SHIB) was ranked fourth among all cryptocurrencies, but it was the third most searched term in both West Virginia and Maryland. Only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin were more popular than SHIB in most states.
In addition to the study conducted by Cryptomeister, a personal finance resource called DollarGeek conducted previous research which found that Shiba Inu (SHIB) was the second most searched cryptocurrency in the US in 2022, with only Bitcoin being more popular. The study showed that Americans conducted an average of 1.29 million monthly searches for Shiba Inu last year. Globally, SHIB was ranked third, following Bitcoin and Dogecoin.

Massive Shiba Inu Interest
The high level of interest in Shiba Inu (SHIB) could potentially increase investor demand for the cryptocurrency. In December of last year, Binance revealed that SHIB was one of the three most-watched assets on its exchange in 2022, along with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Fxcryptonews reported that more than 1.8 million users of CoinMarketCap had added Shiba Inu (SHIB) to their watchlist. Furthermore, SHIB is the third largest single holding among the top 100 Ethereum whales.
It is important to note that there has been an increase in demand for Shiba Inu (SHIB), as seen by whales’ rapid accumulation of THE cryptocurrency. One recent report revealed that the asset’s sixth-largest holder had added 89 billion more SHIB tokens to their holdings. Another whale bought 117 billion SHIB tokens in one large purchase last week.
With the increased global attention to Shiba Inu, many exchanges have chosen to capitalize on this trend by listing its sister tokens, particularly Bone ShibaSwap (BONE). Recently, Gate.io, a major cryptocurrency exchange, listed BONE. CoinRabbit, a lending platform, has also announced its intention to list BONE and support Shibarium, with plans to launch next week.
