Lucie, the official marketing lead for the SHIB developer team, has alerted the Shiba Inu community about a new scam targeting SHIB supporters. Fraudsters are exploiting the name of Ryoshi, the elusive founder of Shiba Inu, who withdrew from the public eye two years ago.
Scammers Misusing Ryoshi’s Name
Lucie’s warning came via a retweet of a post from the Shibarmy Scam Alerts account (@susbarium) on X (formerly Twitter). The post highlighted the increasing misuse of Ryoshi’s name by scammers. These scammers are deceiving SHIB supporters by using Ryoshi’s identity, who left the community in May 2022 after completing the SHIB roadmap. Ryoshi had stated that both he and the developer team would step aside, leaving the ecosystem to the community.

The post stressed that scammers are now exploiting Ryoshi’s name to spread misinformation and deceive community members. This tarnishes Ryoshi’s legacy and poses a significant risk to users. @susbarium urged Shibarium users to stay cautious, verify all information through official SHIB channels, and report any fraudulent activities or misuse of Ryoshi’s name.
Lucie’s Additional Warnings
Lucie echoed these concerns, emphasizing that she flags any mention of Ryoshi linked to “non-existent tokens” or those not referenced in Ryoshi’s previous Medium posts as scams.

She encouraged the community to remain alert and scrutinize anything suspicious. In a separate tweet over the weekend, Lucie also addressed the burning of Shiba Inu tokens, reiterating the standard set by Ryoshi.
She reminded the community that Ryoshi had burned the keys to the remaining SHIB supply.
To further reduce the circulating SHIB tokens, users must now purchase them and remove them from circulation through burning. Another method is to drive the adoption of Shibarium by attracting millions of new users.
