Robinhood Wallet Now Supports Shiba Inu, Available To 1M Users

The recently announced Robinhood Wallet now supports Shiba Inu and other supported cryptocurrencies.

The long-awaited Robinhood Wallet app for smartphones, which enables users to transfer and swap crypto assets like Shiba Inu  (SHIB), has finally been released.

Robinhood’s Crypto GM Johann Kerbrat said yesterday on Twitter that the business had started giving out the wallet to 1 million waitlisted members.

“We’ve started to roll out Robinhood Wallet to our 1M+ waitlist. We’ve made some awesome changes since the beta program based on customer feedback and are excited to get them into your hands,” said Kerbrat.

Robinhood Wallet Now Uses the Ethereum Network

It’s interesting to note that after its beta program, the wallet has improved. The Polygon-based Robinhood Wallet now has support for the Ethereum network.

Users of Robinhood Wallet can now trade and swap a limited number of ERC-20 tokens, including Shiba Inu, thanks to Ethereum support.

Users can also access more than 50 ERC-20 tokens, such as Solana (SOL), Compound (COMP), Uniswap (UNI), Axie Infinity (AXS), Ankr (ANKR), Ethereum Name Service (ENS), Curve (CRV), and others, in addition to Shiba Inu.

Kerbrat also mentioned that the Robinhood Wallet now accepts non-fungible tokens (NFTs) based on Ethereum and Polygon.

Wallet Currently Available on IOS Mobile Devices

According to Robinhood Crypto GM, the wallet is currently accessible on iOS mobile devices.

He also said waitlisted iOS customers would receive an access code to the Robinhood Wallet.

“We will be sharing access codes with customers that will give them entry to the Robinhood Wallet iOS app, so keep your eyes peeled for an email.”

After downloading the app, consumers would receive $5 in their Robinhood Wallets, according to Kerbrat.

Notably, Robinhood will provide the wallet to iOS users who signed up for the queue in the upcoming weeks and months.

Later this year, according to Robinhood, Android compatibility will be available.

Shiba Inu’s inclusion on the list of cryptocurrencies accepted by Robinhood Wallet is not surprising.

Robinhood introduced Shiba Inu trading in April 2022, and since then, the canine-themed cryptocurrency has accomplished notable milestones on the trading site.

As was previously reported, Shiba Inu made it into Robinhood’s top five highest-gaining asset list for two weeks in a row.
