Ripple vs SEC: Court Scheduled a New Conference Call Between Ripple and the SEC

Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn plans to host a new conference call between Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on May 21.

Ripple to Submit Documents Regarding Legal Advice Received

The parties will discuss the regulator’s latest motion to compel the submission of legal advice documents the San Francisco-based company received regarding the regulatory status of XRP.

The SEC is reviewing Ripple’s “fair notice” defense before its motion to strike.

The judge has not yet decided whether the regulator can send a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to its foreign counterparts to get information from the defendant’s foreign exchange and partners. The last meeting was on April 30th.

Ripple Partners SoftBank and Coinbase are Invest $26 million in a Crypto Company 

According to Bloomberg, Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange and Japan’s largest Ripple partner SoftBank Group Corporation have led a financing round for Brazilian asset management company Hashdex Gestora de Recursos, which is currently focused on cryptocurrencies.

In addition to SoftBank and Coinbase Ventures, the list of investors also includes Valor Capital Group, Globo Ventures, Canary and other companies.

Hashdex was released in 2018 and was founded by former Microsoft executives Marcelo Sampaio and Bruno Caratori.

In early 2021, the company launched the Hashdex Nasdaq Crypto Index Foundation Indice, which is the first Crypto ETF in Brazil.

They are now planning to open additional new offices outside of Brazil and to increase their number of employees from 25 to 100 at the moment.
