Blockchain tracking platform Whale Alert recently reported massive XRP transactions totaling over half a billion coins. Less than a day ago, XRP recorded a 10% surge, briefly touching $0.57825 before retracting to $0.55601 on Bitstamp. The San Francisco-based Ripple, led by CEO Brad Garlinghouse, played a significant role in these transactions, which coincided with notable price spikes across the crypto market.
Two Major XRP Transactions Spotted
Approximately 14 hours ago, Whale Alert tracked two large XRP transfers. The first involved 100 million XRP, valued at $53.27 million. The second and larger transfer moved 470 million XRP, worth $250.45 million. Ripple itself facilitated the larger transfer to an undisclosed wallet, which, according to XRP explorer Bithomp, has affiliations with Ripple.

Following the transfer of 470 million XRP, Bithomp noticed an outgoing transaction of 100 million XRP from the same wallet to an unknown address. While Ripple has yet to disclose specific intentions behind these transactions, the company frequently moves significant XRP amounts to support operations and finance its ongoing legal battle with the SEC. These transactions often result in XRP sales, although Ripple has not officially confirmed the end purpose.
Bitcoin’s Record Surge Adds Momentum to XRP
On November 6, Bitcoin achieved a record high, reaching $75,000 before climbing to an all-time high of $76,460. This new peak followed a political shift in the U.S., where a change in government leadership was announced on November 5, likely fueling positive market sentiment.

Bitcoin’s rally sparked broader gains across the cryptocurrency market, including XRP, which rose nearly 10% within 24 hours. However, XRP has since pulled back by about 4%, currently trading at $0.55601. Ripple’s significant XRP transfers, aligned with rising crypto prices, may hint at strategic positioning or routine liquidity management.

While Ripple remains tight-lipped about its motives, market watchers continue to follow these transactions closely, especially with XRP’s legal situation and the broader market volatility.
