Justin Bieber Paid 300% More Than Its Estimated Market Price

According to a post on January 31, Justin Bieber bought a Boring Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT for $1.29 million, reportedly paying 300% more than its estimated market price.

The singer posted a photo of his new BAYC #3001 to his Instagram – featuring a teary-eyed cartoon monkey in a black T-shirt – along with his 2021 hit “Lonely” by.

“What if you have everything and no one calls, maybe you know me. It’s so lonely because I have everything and no one is listening. #lonelyboredape,” he shared with his 219 million Instagram followers, reads the shared post.

According to Bitcoin.com, 27-year-old Bieber bought the NFT for 500 Ethereum cryptocurrencies, equivalent to $1.29 million.

As of January 29, 2022, the appraised value of the NFT is $208,237, meaning the star bought the non-fungible token at nearly 300% over its valuation.

Of course, people took to Twitter to poke fun at Bieber for paying so much for the play.

Others pointed out that Bieber must have really wanted the NFT to pay that much rather than ask, with a third tweeting, “He’s not looking for flips, he just loves monkeys!”

Bieber is no stranger to the NFT world and has a growing body of work. The “Yummy” singer, who has an estimated net worth of $285 million, has reportedly bought 619 NFTs from 49 different collections.
