Hennessy 8 has now entered a new dimension as NFT: Its first and last carafes are presented as Double Drops on BlockBar.com.
Hennessy Partners with BlockBar.com to Launch Its First NFT
According to a publication on January 10, Maison Hennessy is pleased to announce the launch of its first NFT in partnership with BlockBar.com featuring Hennessy 8, a mix created to commemorate the transition period.
In 2017, Yann Fillioux, the 7th generation of the brand’s blender, handed over the torch to his nephew Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and unveiled an extraordinary and symbolic mixture on the occasion. Refined with a kind of water of life from every generation of Hennessy Master bartenders.
After five years of brewing, Hennessy 8 pays tribute to the arrival of a new generation and the brand’s legacy in the art of cognac brewing. Refined, elegant and subtle – this cognac embodies 250 years of outstanding quality, continuous innovation and shared know-how.
These two NFTs are numbered 1/250 and 250/250 and offer a unique opportunity to experience an extraordinary moment in the history of cognac brewing. Maison Hennessy will also open the door to NFT buyers at the Hennessy Estate in Cognac, France.
These unique NFTs are exclusively provided by BlockBar.com and represent the pinnacle of the art of cognac brewing, be it for personal enjoyment, investment or future legacy. After purchase, the crypto version of BlockBar is securely stored and the proof of authenticity is stored on the blockchain as a digital certificate of ownership. Buyers can choose to redeem the physical product and deliver it from BlockBar’s secure warehouse, or to trade its NFT version securely on the BlockBar.com market.
CEO and co-founder of BlockBar, Dov Falic stated that Hennessy is known for innovation and the passing on of know-how from generation to generation. They are therefore honoured that the brand has chosen to partner with BlockBar to celebrate this innovative milestone with their first NFT.
Hennessy and BlockBar to Run an Online Pre-sale Presentation on Tuesday
Hennessy 8 NFT is accompanied by physical and digital attributes. Each purchase comes with a souvenir sculpture and a jewel-like copper key to open the physical box that holds the carafes like a protective sleeve. The cabinet was designed by Arik Levy and uses oak slats from the Hennessy Cooperage La Sarrazine and has 25 floors, each of which symbolizes the 10-year history of Hennessy. The elegant accessory set contains 4 tasting glasses, which were originally designed 30 years ago by the glassmakers Georg Riedel and Yann Fillioux and specially reissued for the Hennessy 8. It also includes an oak barrel pipette and cork stand. A souvenir booklet introducing the origins and spirit of Hennessy 8, a personalized certification name badge and a numbered certificate signed by Yann Fillioux complete the presentation of the traditional Hennessy 8 cognac.
