A new Mastercard debit card has been introduced by the Spanish cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me that will allow customers to make purchases with XRP.

A recent release claims that using the Bit2Me card, which utilizes the Mastercard network, users can pay with XRP in more than 90 million retail locations worldwide. Besides having a physical card, Bit2Me also offers a virtual card, allowing customers to shop with their smartphones and smartwatches.

According to the release, customers will receive 9% cashback every time they use the card to pay for items in-person or online. Based on Bit2Me report, 9% will be distributed in “a magnitude of different cryptocurrencies.”

An Overview of Debit Cards’ Features

Notably, the card also supports seven other cryptocurrencies in addition to XRP. Cryptocurrencies supported by the exchange include Bitcoin (BTC), Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), Solana (SOL), Tether (USDT), Ethereum, and B2M, which is the exchange’s native token.

The debit card lets users withdraw cash from any ATM that accepts Mastercard. Notably, the card has a useful app that enables users to easily switch to any of the accepted cryptocurrencies of their choosing to make payments and cash withdrawals.

The debit card is the result of two years of intense development, according to Leif Ferreira, the CEO, and co-founder of Bit2Me, who commented on the news. After two years of intensive research and development, according to Ferreira, Bit2Me has finally discovered a means to incorporate cryptocurrencies into the Mastercard network.

“To do this, we had to modify the transaction flow (which is part of the international card payment protocol) so that customers can use cryptocurrencies to pay instantly and transparently for businesses. Moreover, we have managed to add up to 9% cash back on purchases,” Ferreira noted. 

Moreover, according to Bit2Me, the card has high-security protocols and other capabilities, such as the ability for users to lock and unlock the card and set a usage cap.

In the upcoming months, Bit2Me plans to release more noteworthy features. Furthermore, the best debit card combines crypto with Mastercard, a major payment institution in conventional banking.

Users can buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and other digital assets on the Bit2Me exchange, which has its headquarters in Spain. According to the exchange, it is the first business to be approved as a provider of virtual assets by the Bank of Spain.

Notably, Bit2Me is one cryptocurrency-related firm that has given cashback rewards to customers using their cryptocurrency-linked debit cards.

Uphold, a cryptocurrency trading platform, provided a 4% cashback incentive for debit card customers last year. The company stated that XRP would be used to pay the cashback.
