Dogecoin Co-Creator Criticizes President Biden’s Billionaire Tax Plan

The Battle for $0.11: Will Dogecoin Survive the Bear Market?

Billy Markus, one of the co-creators of Dogecoin, known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, voiced his dissatisfaction with President Joe Biden on Thursday. He implied that he questioned the intelligence of both the American populace and those who endorse Biden’s approach to taxing billionaires.

Markus made his sentiments known in a message on X, stating, “Joe Biden thinks you are stupid (and to be fair, everyone who hit the like button on this post is). Biden has raised the national debt by 3.7 trillion dollars during his time as President, more than all the billionaires in the US are worth combined.”

During his State of the Union address in February, President Biden urged Congress to support his proposal for a minimum tax on billionaires. He emphasized the significance of preventing billionaires from paying a lower tax rate than essential workers such as school teachers or firefighters.

It’s important to note that while Dogecoin’s co-creators Markus and Jackson Palmer have distanced themselves from the project, other individuals who played roles in its development continue to be associated with the Dogecoin Foundation.

The foundation’s board includes advisors such as Jared Birchall, who has strong ties to tech mogul Elon Musk and represents his interests, as well as Vitalik Buterin, one of the co-founders of Ethereum.

Additionally, Senator Elizabeth Warren’s outspoken criticisms of Elon Musk have made headlines. Her demands for an inquiry into his alleged involvement in a Ukrainian military operation have received both support and opposition. In his statement, Markus referred to Senator Warren as a “phony piece of garbage.”
