Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently met with Jed McCaleb, co-founder of Ripple and creator of Stellar, fueling speculation about a potential collaboration. Hoskinson announced the meeting on X, describing it as positive. McCaleb confirmed the interaction but did not share specific details, leaving the crypto community guessing about future plans.
Collaboration Hints Between Cardano and Stellar
Hoskinson’s meeting with Jed McCaleb raises questions about a possible partnership between Cardano and Stellar. This development follows a series of interactions between Hoskinson and Ripple executives. Last week, Hoskinson reconciled with the XRP community after a prolonged disagreement, signaling his willingness to explore collaborations.

After apologizing to the XRP community, Hoskinson hinted at integrating Cardano’s Midnight sidechain with Ripple’s ecosystem. He also suggested involvement in Ripple’s stablecoin initiative. Soon after, he met Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, expressing optimism about potential joint efforts.
Hoskinson also held a technical discussion with Ripple CTO David Schwartz, focusing on XRP and Midnight. These interactions suggest a growing relationship between Cardano and Ripple, potentially paving the way for collaborative projects.
Midnight’s Role in Crypto Innovations
Hoskinson’s meeting with Jed McCaleb hints at expanding Midnight’s integration into Stellar. Midnight, Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain, aims to solve compliance and privacy challenges in the crypto industry. Unveiled at ScotFest 2022, Midnight employs advanced technologies like zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) to enable private smart contracts and secure transactions.

Currently in beta testing, Midnight is set to launch its mainnet soon. Hoskinson appears committed to positioning Midnight within major crypto ecosystems, including XRP and Stellar. Jed McCaleb co-founded Ripple but left in 2013 after disagreements with the team. He later founded Stellar in 2014 to focus on cross-border payments, a goal similar to Ripple’s mission.
Although Hoskinson and McCaleb have kept specifics under wraps, their meeting, along with Hoskinson’s ongoing efforts, suggests the crypto space may soon see significant developments involving Cardano, Stellar, and Ripple.
