During a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reacted to a viewer’s comment that BitBoy, a prominent crypto influencer, no longer supports him. This statement comes after BitBoy’s numerous criticisms of Cardano, including calling its native token, ADA, “dead.” Hoskinson confirmed the claim, highlighting that BitBoy has turned against Cardano after the ecosystem team refused to give him money.
In response to Hoskinson’s remarks, BitBoy, undeterred, escalated the situation by challenging Hoskinson to a pit fight. He addressed the Cardano founder directly, saying, “Give the people the fight they want, @IOHK_Charles—you and me. In the Pit.” Although BitBoy acknowledged that Hoskinson is five years older, he speculated that a fight between them would become an epic event during the upcoming bull run.

Hoskinson Reacts to the Challenge
Hoskinson reacted to BitBoy’s challenge without openly accepting or declining it. Instead, he likened the challenge to fighting an angry bear, leaving his followers to interpret the remark as they saw fit. This response kept the tension simmering without directly engaging with BitBoy’s aggressive stance.
BitBoy’s current antagonism towards Cardano contrasts sharply with his earlier bullish outlook on the project. He had previously predicted that ADA could surge to $11 during the 2024/2025 bull run. However, three months later, BitBoy reversed his stance, claiming that “ADA is dead.” He argued that Cardano’s performance lagged behind competitors like Solana (SOL) and Toncoin (TON). Following these assertions, Hoskinson announced that he would no longer engage in crypto discussions with BitBoy.
Institutional Appeal Debate
BitBoy further criticized Cardano, arguing that its lack of institutional appeal would eventually lead to ADA’s demise as a legitimate investment. He reiterated this stance, stating that institutional clients had little interest in Cardano.

In response, Hoskinson countered that the original vision of crypto was to replace institutions, not to seek their approval. He added a touch of sarcasm by saying he might learn to play the banjo just to please BitBoy.
The escalating tension between BitBoy and Hoskinson showcases a broader debate within the crypto community about institutional validation and the future direction of projects like Cardano.
