Cardano has officially opened the Midnight airdrop claim portal, enabling 33.6 million eligible addresses across eight major blockchains to claim free NIGHT tokens. The supported networks include XRP Ledger, Cardano, Solana, Bitcoin, BNB, Ethereum, Basic Attention Token, and Avalanche.
Launch Teased by Charles Hoskinson
The airdrop portal’s launch came just a day after Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson teased the event with a cryptic tweet reading “tomorrow kids,” accompanied by a GIF stating, “So it begins.” This sparked speculation among users about the imminent opening of the Glacier airdrop claim portal.
Eligible users can claim their tokens through a four-step process. First, they must visit the claim portal and connect their “origin address,” which matches the one used during the qualifying snapshot. Next, they must provide a destination address to receive their NIGHT tokens. Afterward, users must accept the terms and conditions and sign the transaction to complete the claim.
Glacier Airdrop Timeline and Phases
The Glacier Airdrop, the first phase of distribution, will run for 60 days. Once it concludes, the Scavenger Mine phase will begin immediately, lasting 30 days. In this phase, participants must complete computational tasks to earn unclaimed tokens.

Following this, a third phase, Lost-and-Found, will give users another opportunity to claim tokens. Any remaining unclaimed tokens after this phase will be allocated to the Midnight treasury.
Token Allocation Across Blockchains
Cardano users will receive the majority share of NIGHT tokens. Out of the total supply, 50% equivalent to 12 billion tokens is reserved for ADA holders. Bitcoin network users will receive 20% of the supply, or 4.8 billion tokens.

The remaining 30% (7.2 billion tokens) will be equally distributed among Avalanche, XRPL, Solana, Basic Attention Token, BNB, and Ethereum, with each receiving 1.2 billion tokens. Over 33 million addresses qualify for the airdrop. The number of tokens each user gets depends on their individual holdings of eligible assets at the time of the snapshot.
