Breaking News!! Do Kwon Arrested in Montenegro

Do Kwon, a co-founder of Terraform Labs, who was wanted for his part in the $40 billion Terra Luna ecosystem collapse in May 2022, has reportedly been apprehended today.

According to a tweet from Filip Adzic, Montenegro’s interior minister, Do Kwon looks to have been detained there.

Filip Adzic tweeted, “Montenegrin police have detained a person suspected of being one of the most wanted fugitives, South Korean citizen Do Kwon, co-founder and CEO of Singapore-based Terraform Labs.”

Since the announcement was made, the local news source Vijesti has confirmed that the South Korean national who was detained is the person who was announced on Twitter by Montenegro’s interior minister.

After the collapse of the $40 billion ecosystem supporting the stablecoin terraUSD (UST) and the shockwaves it caused in the cryptocurrency markets last year, Kwon has been the subject of numerous investigations and was even placed on Interpol’s red notice.

Adzic said the suspect was captured at the Podgorica airport using forged documents and was still awaiting formal identification.

The official account of Montenegro’s prime minister, Dritan Abazovic, is followed by Adzic’s unverified account.

Abazovic’s account also retweeted the tweet announcing Kwon’s arrest. Official tweets have already referenced Adzic’s account.

Regulatory officials in South Korea, Singapore, and the US are also looking for Do Kwon.
