Algorand Invites Game Developers to a $1,000,000 Hackathon

Algorand is a powerful blockchain ecosystem that supports smart contracts. Every developer can build a DApp on the infrastructure. Bring your game hackathon to introduce Game-DApp developers to the Algorand ecosystem.

Algorand to Shape the Future of Games

According to an announcement on October 26, the fast and affordable Algorand blockchain organized a hackathon for a total of $1,000,000 and invited developers to create game DApps during the event. Algorand hopes to turn the “Bring Your A Game hackathon” into an event for developers to shape the future of games.

Algorand’s next-generation smart contracts have helped Dapps become more flexible. The blockchain supports Java, JavaScript (node.js and browser), Go and Python SDKs, REST APIs and many community SDKs such as Rust, Swift, PHP, Dart, C # etc.

Algorand has developed its own intelligent contract language, Cyan. This ensures that no DApp in the ecosystem is compromised. Algorand offers everything you need for a game of DApp: Fast transactions, Scalability, Smart contracts, Low costs.

Algorand wants to attract the next Splinterlands or Axie Infinity and make them part of their ecosystem. In the blockchain space, we are seeing more play-2-earn games on multiple blockchain solutions and Algorand hopes to be part of this new gaming revolution. The hackathon starts on November 1st and ends on December 7th, 2021.

Blockchain Games and Hackathon Rewards

In the last quarter, 754,000 unique wallets were associated with gaming dapps in the broader blockchain ecosystem. Billions of users worldwide play video games on consoles, home computers and mobile devices. As blockchain games grow in popularity, Algorand hopes to position itself as a viable blockchain solution.

They created four main categories for this hackathon, each with a price of $20,000 (paid in ALGO tokens): game development tools, NFT-based games, metaverse environment, and play-2-earn games. In addition, game studios and independent game developers can compete for one of four prizes valued at $250,000. There will be quality standards as the team evaluates submissions based on their features, game experience, documentation, ease of use and complexity.
